I installed ubuntu on an G3 blueberry iMac, and it works ok.
bhyde@ubuntu:~$ set | wc -l
4251
Golly.
FYI – installing via the Live CD doesn’t work, while the alternative CD did – but that requires time and expertise.

Bizarre- I get 60.
6551 here. The culprit seems to be bash completion. The root user only has 46.
Synchronicity. I did just that (Ubuntu on a Blueberry G3) a couple months ago when I scored a large pile of surplussed Macs. It does work OK, but doesn’t give me much of a speed boost over my KuroBox (which runs Gentoo) when compiling inside the Black Dog SDK. And 1024×768 gets slightly clipped on the top and bottom of the screen.
